Jerry Jones would "Walk to New York" for a quarterback controversy

Updated: Sep 22, 2022

Jerry Jones said, "of course, I would, That means we'd won; if he [Rush] comes in here and plays as well as Prescott plays; if Rush plays that well, over these next few games and is a hit, I'd walk to new york to get that". Jerry Jones said in response to the question, "so you'd want that, would you want that player controversy?" Cooper Rush will be making his second start in a row this monday against the New York Giants after bringing home a win against Joe Burrow and Last year's AFC champs, The Cincinnati Bengals. He is their starter as Prescott heals from his week one thumb injury, while week seven or nine is the probable time for his return, he could be back as soon as week four, said cowboys Vice President Stephen Jones. Dak has been the unrivaled starter since his rookie year in 2016. Last year he signed a 4-year, $160 Million contract extension, giving him $40 Million a year. Rush would need to put on quite the performance to make a quarterback controversy even viable, especially since Dak has been the "face of the franchise", since his rookie year. But if Rush can get wins, and who knows; even help get the Cowboys to the playoffs he would be on par with Dak performance-wise, since Dak has only gone to the playoffs once in his six-year NFL career.

Is Dak even worth his price?

This topic has been long debated, and here I'll give you my opinion - It was not the best decision for the team to sign Dak Prescott to his most recent extension. He is yet to establish himself to be a Quarterback in the caliber of players like Kyler Murray, Patrick Mahomes, and Matthew Stafford, and yet he still gets paid almost identically to them. He has a pretty sturdy offense and yet he still can't figure out how to put the pieces together. Rush proved he could do that with his win against the former AFC champions, The Cincinnati Bengals. This week we will find out if last sunday was just a fluke or if Rush is someone to look out for. I would personally like to see a quarterback controversy between Prescott and Rush, but I don't know if that will happen. But, let me know what you think about this in the comments below, Thank you for reading girls in sports, I'm Julia Rouse!
