Today's featured park is PNC Park, owned by The Pittsburgh Pirates .
It is their 5th stadium since their founding in 1887. PNC park opened in 2001 and is a unique mix of styles paying a tribute to vintage style ballparks with a modern twist. The riverfront park combines the best features of past ballparks - rhythmic archways, steel trusswork and a natural grass playing field well adding the latest in fan and player amenities and features.
PNC Park features a prime location along the shore of the Allegheny River and takes advantage of gorgeous views of the downtown skyline and riverfront, along with riverboat access, creating an exciting and dramatic urban sports venue. It also provides easy access for people crossing the Roberto Clemente bridge from downtown, also spectators are met by a dynamic interactive retail/restaurant and sports pavilion beyond right field, with attractions for all ages.
